Well it had to happen.<\/p>\n

The second earlies have reached the end of their cycle. The maincrop still have a month or so to go before we take them out.<\/p>\n

So we lifted them, and here, for those of you who stuck with us through this fascinating journey of potatoey goodness is the grand finale(?) for half of our plants.<\/p>\n

Today, Instead of our usual absorbing fact, we present a preview of the future of these humble potatoes.<\/p>\n

OWLBEAR MASHED POTATO<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Take some potatoes slice into 3cm cubes. If you are a bit squeamish you can peel them, but we prefer “skin on” potatoes.<\/p>\n

Rinse.<\/p>\n

Place into a pan with sufficient cold water to cover.<\/p>\n

Bring to boil and continue to boil for 15 minutes or until potatoes are soft enough to easily pass a fork through.<\/p>\n

Mash with a potato masher.<\/p>\n

Add a good dollop of butter, a dash of milk (or cream if you prefer) and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n

Mix it all together (we like to mash it all together).<\/p>\n
