The time has come.

Well it had to happen.

The second earlies have reached the end of their cycle. The maincrop still have a month or so to go before we take them out.

So we lifted them, and here, for those of you who stuck with us through this fascinating journey of potatoey goodness is the grand finale(?) for half of our plants.

Nice

Some very nice looking spuds there.

Today, Instead of our usual absorbing fact, we present a preview of the future of these humble potatoes.

OWLBEAR MASHED POTATO

Take some potatoes slice into 3cm cubes. If you are a bit squeamish you can peel them, but we prefer “skin on” potatoes.

Rinse.

Place into a pan with sufficient cold water to cover.

Bring to boil and continue to boil for 15 minutes or until potatoes are soft enough to easily pass a fork through.

Mash with a potato masher.

Add a good dollop of butter, a dash of milk (or cream if you prefer) and pepper to taste.

Mix it all together (we like to mash it all together).

Enjoy!
